The only thing that you can control is what you put out into the world. That is your karma. Everything else is out of your control. You cannot control other people. You cannot control how situations play out. You can put yourself in a position to win, but sometimes, even then, you will lose.
You can control yourself, and your output. You can control your reactions. You are in control of you, and nothing else. That is a very hard thing to rationalize, of course. Everyone wants to believe that they can control how other people react to them. Everybody thinks they can force success.
Unfortunately, that's just not true. People will always ascribe things to you, whether they are warranted or not.
If you're grumpy, people will think you are mean. If you're too nice, people will think you're a suck-up and hate you. If you're tired, they will think you are lazy. None of those things may be true, of course, but that is what other people will ascribe to you, and m…
