Maybe I'm an old man shaking my fist at coulds, but Mario Land hits different than the rest of even Universal, let alone amusement parks, and feels like the start of something ominous.

Hi friends,

I’ll give it to Universal, the new Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the most beautiful lands I’ve ever seen at a theme park. Every inch of it feels like entering a Mario game. It brought me back 40 years to those first moments playing Super Mario Bros. on my Nintendo.

I love Super Mario Bros. and used to be able to speed run it in eight minutes back before speed runs were a thing. It was kind of unbelieveable, honestly, to stand inside my childhood, which is why I’m sad to say that it is also peak late-stage capitalism.
