The Hapitalist launch sequence
Is it weird to make a post about the launch sequence I used to attract members to Hapitalist and make it available only to Hapitalist members? Probably, but I'm doing it anyway.
Hi,
So in the second half of July 2025, I started a launch email sequence to announce my Hapitalist founding member program. It’s something I was working on for about a year, tweaking the language and such.
Naturally, meaning without a launch, 3 people had entered Hapitalist in the first half of 2025. In July, we welcomed 25 new members.
Yay!
But also very far from my 100 member launch goal. That’s okay, though. I’m still happy, even though we fell short of the 33 people I thought would be a disastrous launch.
Why?
So, the reason I think it didn’t go nearly as well as I hoped is because at the last minute I decided not to include a countdown timer.
Most of my other launches have a hard deadline, but I decided to just leave it open ended, and treat this launch like an informational sequence telling people about something they could freely enter whenever they wanted.
That meant no pressure, and no pressure meant fewer people signing up in the moment, but hopefully an experience that feels…
