Recently, I was on a webinar and the host said "my competition is only there to make me look good. I honestly don't even know who they are".
I can tell you right now, y'all, it was the moment I literally stopped caring about any word out of this person's mouth and shut down.
Up until that moment I was considering spending a heap of money on her program.
After that, I was done.
I don't care to live in a world where I'm trying to step over and on top of other people in publishing.
I don't care to run a business that is so mercenary all it can do is look at other people doing the same thing and find everything wrong with it.
We live in a time where everyone doing good work can win.
Can we all win on Amazon? No, probably not. There are a finite number of readers there.
Luckily, there are a million paths to succeed in publishing.
We can all win by building our own little ecosystem; a weird little biome that maybe doesn't work for anyone else in the world but it works for us. We nurture it, and care…
